What’s been going down in Londontown I hear you ask?

Sarah brought us back some Squiggles. Both packets disappeared in the home of Team Uxbridge in approximately two days. I had forgotten the joy of the Squiggle, I guess because the mind sometimes forgets the most painful of memories and I couldn’t bear to remember. Now I know and I’m pining!

I took our new camera to Hamstead for a play and found this delightful little cat which made me miss my Dusty Balls. He was so friendly and cute. I loved the houses in Hamstead a lot – it’s where the rich people live. We heard a man with the campest London accent ever say to his toddler ‘Now come along Felix it looks as though we’re going to going to have to take the tube’ as if it was the saddest fact to tell a toddler.

It’s Autumn in London and so beautiful! So many colours and craziness. Bit of a trade off though because it is getting really cold. Tim has bought himself a jacket which is keeping him warm but we’re still on the look out for one for me.

We bought some board games to get ready for a long winter. Jenga went down a treat although we were all pretty terrible at it. Red managed to finally decipher the rules to Risk after the rest of us couldn’t be bothered and then he won the first game, so he was probably cheating. I’m sure we will spend many hours playing Risk in the future.

We went out on Saturday night for a hot chocolate and a walk around the city to see the Christmas lights. Rock’n’roll lifestyle I can tell you’re thinking?? It was quite beautiful though. Carnaby Street had some crazy blow up snowmen which were very odd! Regent Street is rocking the best look with giant stars made out of fairy lights.

Ah nothing like being sent a link like this on a Friday afternoon. Unbelievably awesome cat! Stupid as hell and fat which adds to the hilarity.

Boo hoo for boots

November 13, 2008 at 3:18 pm (Uncategorized)

I had a very sad experience last night. Kelly and I were sitting around about to face a double-whammy of Heroes (which the lads glue themselves to each week and us girls are not even allowed to talk!) when we realized we now live not five minutes from the biggest mall in Europe. Well it was tempting, so I took off my pjs and we went. We were on the lookout for boots of our dreams. I had money (well plastic) burning a hole in my jeans and I was desperado for the funky new boots I’ve always dreamed of, ever since Mere took off with my black ankle boots and I didn’t realize for years until I complimented her on her nice boots and she said ‘They’re yours’ ha ha.

Anyway the most gigantic beast of a mall now lives with us in She Bu, and I still couldn’t find a pair. So upsetting, I should have just gone to bed early! It was very upsetting to not find anything fabulous in such a monstrous place.

On a more positive note, we are having a little party tonight to farewell Alex back to New Zealand. It was supposed to be a fireworks party but since it was ‘organised’ by Team Uxbridge, the four most useless people on this planet – well we have no fireworks and the plan to make delicious tapas has not been pulled off either. But don’t worry for Paul ‘Red’ Sanderson has come up with a plan to still make it the best party you’ve never been to: Pizza and Doritos. Sorted.

I’m so flooping excited. Only just found out they were making this Family Guy spinoff – I love Cleveland! His family looks hilarious. Ha ha this is pretty awesome too. Will have to learn some of this lingo before Christmas…

The simple things

November 7, 2008 at 7:11 pm (Uncategorized)

We went to a Kiwi burger restaurant the other night and it was so special because we got to see the good old tomato-shaped sauce bottle! A little slice of home. Tim was stoked cause he got a Kiwi burger – with beetroot! So now we know where to head when we feel homesick!
